Hi, I am Danielle.

I grew up in Warwickshire, in the UK. I remember being happy to go to school and I loved taking part in various extracurricular activities. I was always strong at maths and could see the relationship between numbers. After doing various work experiences in my teenage years, I knew I wanted to take the path into a “Big 4 Firm”.

I started my journey at PwC in the Nottingham Audit Team and qualified with the ACCA in 2007. I instantly made a sideways move to the International Mobility team in London. Something about the ‘international’ aspect caught my attention, mixed with the technicality of tax legislation, this was right up my street (I know this is not everyone’s cup of tea). I absolutely loved it. For me it was fascinating. When going through old paperwork recently, I came across a feedback form that I had received from a Partner in the team whilst I was going through the promotion process to Manager. Something that really stuck was ‘Danielle will always be a safe pair of hands’. I hope I can live up to that both professionally and personally.

In 2010, after lots of what my grandparents would call ‘burning the candle at both ends’, I moved to PwC in Birmingham to live with my now-husband, Jonathan. As a Manager in the International Mobility team, I instantly found myself at home and continued to love my job. I had a couple of large international clients where I advised expatriate assignees on a daily basis. There was even a Bikram yoga studio right next door.

Six months later, through a friend, we had the opportunity to move to the British Virgin Islands, and so after little research and having never visited the Caribbean, we moved to the BVI. With little to no tax demand in the BVI, I went back to my roots of audit and worked for BDO as an Audit Manager for nine months. We remained in the BVI until 2017 where I spent my time raising our two children and doing voluntary work for the Red Cross.

In 2017 we made the jump from the BVI back to the UK where we bought our ‘forever home’ and settled into life back in Warwickshire. It wasn’t long before we started planning our next adventure.

We moved to Cayman in August 2021. We quickly remembered how it was to live on a small island and whilst Cayman and the BVI have noticeable differences, it felt like home. After a brief stint at Deloitte, I joined Liberty Wealth in April 2023, as an Investment Advisor Associate, where I will be responsible for assisting on bespoke projects, particularly those related to UK tax and HMRC.

From my background both professionally and personally I find myself regularly talking to people I meet from the UK about tax. Living in a ‘tax free’ jurisdiction, tax is often something that people overlook. It can be intimidating and stressful to think about it. I hope to open this conversation with existing and new clients in an easy and friendly way. By making the advice manageable and actionable, and combining it with the other aspects of a financial plan, this adds extraordinary value.

I am so excited to be able to bring this skill set to Liberty Wealth to raise awareness and signpost UK tax considerations.

My passions outside of strategic tax planning are fitness, reading and travelling with my family. After years of peloton power-zone training I have finally made the jump onto the road bike. The initial ride was an interesting one. Each week you will also find me running, at CrossFit or at yoga trying to keep a healthy balance for my body and mind.
