Hi, I’m Guy.

I grew up in the UK, in a village in West Sussex. My path to Liberty Wealth has been a varied and (to me at least) an interesting one. Having spent a year abroad in France, I graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Law and French.

In 2011, I attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and later commissioned into the Royal Dragoon Guards. After four amazing years troop leading, an operational tour to Afghanistan and captaining the regimental ski team, I swapped tank commanding in North Yorkshire for a role in wealth management in London.

My jump into finance landed me in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs where I worked with a team of wealth advisors to manage clients’ investment portfolios across all asset classes. I loved it – the excitement of the markets blended well with my love for building relationships with clients. I completed my CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) exams, which led to a move to the Alternative Investment Manager Selection Group, where I assisted in the research, planning, construction and management of customised hedge fund portfolios for the firm’s private clients.

In 2018, I joined the project management team in Evercore’s Private Funds Group where I focussed on origination, due diligence and execution of fundraises for third party private equity managers. It was great getting to experience the nuts and bolts of how private equity firms raised capital and the level of due diligence investors required when making decisions and allocating capital.

London was also where I met my wife – and Georgie’s sister – Allie. It wasn’t long before I was being whisked off to the Cayman Islands to get the nod of approval from the clan before proposing. I instantly fell in love with the island and the prospect of raising a family in paradise.

Allie and I eventually made it to Cayman in 2020 and I spent the next two years helping Investment Management firms meet their Cayman Islands Economic Substance obligations, as well as providing investment advisory solutions to entities and ultra high net worth clients. Much to Allie’s relief, I completed my final exam to became a CFA Charterholder in 2023.

One aspect of the Army that I always found fascinating was the role that psychology and behaviour played in effective leadership; I believe they are equally important in investing. I hope that my experiences will be complementary to Liberty Wealth’s philosophy and its clients.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me getting to grips with fatherhood (mostly involves testing my dad jokes on Allie and little Rocco), back in uniform with the Cayman Islands Regiment, riding my motorcycle and playing rugby.
